Cress bugs don’t really hatch. They are present year round. Let me repeat that, cress bugs are in creeks all year long. Heated socks are a life saver for my toes. I put these on, then throw another oair of wool socks over top. I then wear pants, plus obviously my waders. Its hard for me to reach down to my socks and change the setting. Having an app that controls it, is super convenient. You know me by now, im all about being efficient on the water so I have more time to fish. The one thing that can end your day early are cold toes. Not anymore. These waders are the real deal. Some like all in one waders, others like stocking feet with boots. These all in one waders are super warm. I’ve never had warm waders. Knee patch’s are a great addition as I’m always on my knees looking for entomology. So many pockets. And the zipper, so simple to get on, and soooo simple to pee in. Just sayin’. This is how I get ready to fish in really cold weather. One thing i never show is what I wear under my waders. I wear pants called makers and riders. They are insulated and water proof. They were originally made for New York City bikers, so they could commute to work and still look professional. #flyfishing #wintergear #flyfishinggear

#ad They do NOT keep your hands warm, but they do keep them dry. Cold, wet hands is the quikest way to end a fishing day. Your hands get wet from handling your line. Then add in handling a fish, your wet & cold hands dont recover from that. So I wear nitrile gloves to keep them dry. I wear them under wool gloves, who h keep them warm. And YES, I can tie my flies with them on. If surgeons can tue knits with them in surgery, we can tie knots with them. A lot of Flyfisher’s don’t like casting up stream and stripping against the flow. It’s honestly one of my most successful techniques while streamer fishing.
