Heading to our 7th Continent 😱 We cannot believe this is happening! Replying to @Carly C Our Journey to Antarctica: the Drake Passage 😱🇦🇶 It’s day two of our trip of a lifetime on board the Ocean Explorer with @Quark Expeditions and the part we have been the most nervous about… the infamous Drake Passage. While we had a little bit of the Drake Shake at varying times throughout the day, we have been able to make the most of the day. Tomorrow we have more Drake Passage in store for us and then we cross into the Antarctica region 🥹🙌🏻 we can’t wait! We have reached Antarctica 🇦🇶 🥹 After 2 days in the Drake Passage, we finally made it to our first full day of exploring Antarctica with @Quark Expeditions 🙌🏻 We started the day with beautiful sunny weather and were in awe of the stunning mountains and landscapes around us. On our two zodiac cruises, we got to see a variety of penguins, seals, and even Humpback whales as well as glaciers, a research station and SO many icebergs 😱🧊 On board, we enjoyed meals with incredible views, we joined a tour of the bridge and learned more about the ship, and even got to have a hot tub to end the night with iceberg views. Today was even better than we could have dreamed, and we have an exciting itinerary you aren’t going to want to miss tomorrow so stay tuned 🙌🏻 #antarctica #QuarkExpeditions #travelwithquark #oceanexplorership

ntarctica Expedition Day 5 with Quark Expeditions 🇦🇶❄️ We started our day in a snowy, winter wonderland where we got to do our paddle excursion 🙌🏻 This is an additional experience you can add to your expedition and we cannot recommend it enough. Not only is it incredibly peaceful, but you also get a unique perspective of icebergs and wildlife from eye level which to us was super special. We sailed through some stunning landscapes as we headed to our final excursion point of the day to explore an area full of glaciers and Gentoo Penguin colonies. Although we weren’t able to land due to safety concerns, the expedition crew made the most of it and we had a great afternoon out on the zodiacs. If we have learned one thing so far, it’s that you need to go into the expedition with an open mind 🙌🏻 Mother Nature has her own plans and sometimes they don’t align with ours, and that’s okay! One thing we admire about the @Quark Expeditions crew, is that they quickly adapt and change plans to make the best of any situation.
