She was so excited to try sardines for the first time, but when we turned our backs, the cat grabbed the chance. We had to head back to the store later to stock up on more sardines for her and the cats.
The kids are back in school and again catching all the bugs. 😅 So I know this is a great time to make my elderberry syrup! It's super easy and It helps us avoid colds or recover from them much faster. (Plus, it's full of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties) 💕 Ingredients: ✨1 cup dried elderberries ✨4 cups water ✨1-2 inches fresh ginger, peeled ✨1 lemon, sliced ✨1-2 cinnamon sticks ✨1 cup honey How to make it 💕: 1: In a medium saucepan, combine the dried elderberries, water, ginger slices, lemon and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 45 minutes until the liquid reduces by half. 2: Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl, pressing the berries to extract as much liquid as possible. 3: Once the liquid has cooled, add honey. 4: Pour the syrup into a glass jar with a lid and store it in the refrigerator. It should last for about 2-3 weeks. ✨Take one tablespoon daily for immune support or up to 3 times a day if feeling under the weather.
