Trust me, I wanted to bring them, but the car was packed to the ceiling with essentials the family, including our son and dog. Fortunately, so far our house hasn’t been hit 🔥🙏 we know many who have lost everything 😢
#ad I've partnered with Össur to tell you about Power Knee.🦿Since I have a hip disarticulation, my biological leg usually does all the work when I stand up—until now. The Power Knee’s active assist helps lift me from sitting to standing. It’s a feature I didn’t know I needed until I tried it. 📢Legal stuff: The statements I've made in this video reflect my own experience and are not a guarantee, promise or reflection of the experience of others. Power Knee is a medical device. Safety guidance can be found in the Instructions for Use on Össur's website.
Phantom limb pain is a big problem for many amputees, including myself. Mr. MAPP is an innovative VR system developed by a team of scientists that tracks your movements and displays a virtual limb on a screen or in VR goggles. This might help your brain adjust and reduce pain signals. It's still experimental, and requires a significant amount of technical skill and gear (Kinect camera, Meta VR goggles, PC) but if you want to learn more, Google "Mr. MAPP phantom pain" Special thanks to computer scientist and study co-author Yu-Yen Chung for helping me troubleshoot.
