Odyssey Update! Our beautiful boy is at the vet again today. He is getting his long-awaited neuter surgery and will be having his nose lanced. We are hopeful that he has fluid in his nose that can be drained and promote faster healing. Wish big man luck 🤞 We will have an update once he's home.
When we rescued Hope she was so weak, we didn't think she would survive. She was cold to the touch and couldn't stand up or walk around. We got her into the incubator, warmed her up, gave her subq fluids, and had to tube feed her. She started to gain strength, but we were still worried about her as she was fighting an Upper Respiratory Infection. She ended up making a full recovery and grew to be the most loving and confident kitten. Yesterday, she traveled over 2100 miles to Toronto, Canada, to be with her new family ❤️ She is going to be so loved and have the best happily ever after with her Mom, Dad, and Cat Siblings (which includes our previous rescues, Thalia and Jupiter). You can follow her in her forever home @jupithecalicat
Andrea Update! We rescued Andrea from a local colony of cats. She had been wandering around for a tube stuck in her neck for weeks 💔 She was scared and hadn't had much human contact before. She's been with us for 7 months, and it took about 6 for he to start trusting us. Now, she is the most loving and affectionate girl ❤️ Andrea has beautiful Turkish Van markings with her solid colored tail and spotted head 😍 She's officially available for adoption. New Rescue Alert! We got a message today from a lady who heard meowing and found a lone kitten hiding against a fence. The finder was waiting to see if the mom would come back to get her, but she never did. We were apprehensive about going out to rescue in the current fire/weather conditions with the San Bernardino fire, but then we got a flash flood warning. We knew she wouldn't survive a flood, and we went out to get her. She is the so tiny 😭 She is safe and in our care. She will be at the vet tomorrow for her upper respiratory infection. We are currently bottle feeding her as she hasn't figured out solid food yet. We have been having the weirdest, craziest weather. The 108° temperature mixed with the fire has created its own weather system, along with earthquakes. We have been getting thunder and lightning with over 3700 lightning strikes yesterday. We have decided to name her Bolt ⚡️ Stay tuned for updates.
New Rescue Alert! We were called about a litter of kittens living in debris outside of someone's garage. The area was hard to navigate because there was so much clutter, and the kittens were so small they could fit behind and under almost everything. We played the sound of kittens meowing and were able to lure them out one by one... They were so tiny!! Unfortunately, one of their siblings was found deceased 💔 We were concerned about panleukopenia and brought them in to get tested. One of the babies came back as weak positive, which broke our hearts because kittens their age almost never survive the infection. We ended up hospitalizing them so they could be retested in the morning. We also got a PCR test sent out for more conclusive results. Luckily, the little monsters all tested negative in the morning, and a few days later, the PCR game back negative as well 🤗 This rescue was a few weeks ago now, and they have been hanging out and growing with their foster Mama @gatitoastas We have named these kittens the Vampire Diaries litter. We have Damon, Stefan, and Elena. These sweeties are all available for preadoption. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application by visiting the link in our bio @catsofsanbernardino We got information on Mama cat from the property owners and she will be TNR'd. No more kittens for this little lady. Speaking of TNR, the weather should be changing soon. We are currently still at 105° but that can't last forever. As soon as we get a break in the heat, we will continue our live TNR on Thursdays. We hope you all will join us on the lives 🤗
