I always avoided getting cornrows because i thought my head was too small and i just all around didnt have the headshape for it. I thought my forehead was big etc. But I recently had to model in NYFW and i was required to get my hair braided back. I was super anxious about it, especially because this was more than just my feelings on the line, it was also potentially my career. However when i got them done I was blown away, i didnt even recognize myself. My facial features were highlighted and I felt like I was radiating. Compliments started pouring in and I was filled with confidence. It was a new experience in and uncomfortable environment, but i was flourishing. When i got back home i was so excited about my braids that I had to get them done again and now I have turned my fear of cornrows into an infatuation.
