story time: i almost quit competitive skating after having my worst nationals ever last year. but something in me decided that instead of giving up, i should try to figure out what happened and work on getting better. i spent the past year focused on improving not only my physical skating skills, but also on my mental health: rewiring how i viewed competitions, discovering ways to deal with nerves, and learning how to find my center even in the chaos. this win isn’t just a medal — it’s 3 years of hard work, setbacks, tears, and growth all wrapped up in one moment 🥹🛼🩷 standing here now as the u.s. national champion in open b creative solo feels unreal. last year i placed 23rd in the same category, and my goal this season was to make it to finals, but most importantly: to enjoy and have fun while i skate. having achieved that goal after making 4th in the eliminations was enough, but then discovering i got 1st place in finals was more than i could’ve wished for. i couldn’t stop crying, knowing that i did exactly what i wanted to achieve this season, and more. little lilia would be so proud right now. thank you to everyone who stuck by me when i doubted myself. this is proof that healing and persistence really do pay off 🥇🏆✨ so here’s to my marie antoinette - let’s all eat cake now 🎂🎀🥰 the biggest thank you to my coach who is always true inspiration to me.
