16/03/25 — Although expected, nothing or no amount of time could have prepared me for the loss of my best friend of 17 years ❤️‍🩹 As most of you know Opie is my other half, quite literally too since he takes half of my username. I got him when I was 6 and I’ve never seen him as a pet, he’s always been my best friend and my family 🥹. Although he’s no longer in pain after holding on for so long the past 8 months, It’s by far the most difficult thing to process that he’s no longer with us anymore. I might be biased but if you’ve met Opie you know how special of a cat he was and how precious he is to me. As much as I cared for him all these years, it was actually him that cared for me even more. He watched me grow up from kindergarten all the way to graduating university :( Watching Opie slowly fade away from CKD was incredibly difficult, and i’m relieved he’s finally in peace but my heart is absolutely shattered
