As we approach our 19 year anniversary in a few days, we are reminded of that 15 & 16 year old that fell in love! ♥️ We are reminded of the fear we felt about the thought of losing each other because Jaquiri’s family was moving for the 10th time since we met The fear that Gene’s family would force us to stop being together because of their fear that Jaquiri would ruin Gene’s life being in love so young The fear Gene felt when Jaquiri ran away because her mom had another relapse Gene’s fear of breaking Jaquiri’s already fragile heart while trying to balance the line between loving her and respecting her boundaries Gene trying to love Jaquiri in spite of her constantly pushing him away out of fear that he’ll just leave like everyone else We’re reminded that although we came from two different family backgrounds and faced a ton of obstacles along this journey we didn’t let anything or anyone get in between the love we have for each other.
