It’s stuck in survival mode. Here’s what that looks like:
→ Tired no matter how much you sleep
→ Cravings that come out of nowhere
→ Bloating, anxiety, mood swings, burnout
→ Hair thinning, skin dull, digestion all over the place
→ “Eating clean” but nothing’s working I know because I lived it. There was a time I was eating 1,250 calories a day.
I thought I was being “disciplined.”
But really? I was starving my body.
But the real damage? ⚠️ I was inflamed.
⚠️ My hair was thinning.
⚠️ My skin looked dull and tired. ⚠️ My gut was messed up.
⚠️ I was anxious, wired, and exhausted all at once. Under-eating doesn’t lead to a lean, happy, healthy body.
It leads to a stressed-out, inflamed one. Here’s why:
When you chronically under-eat, your body down-regulates your metabolism to conserve energy.
That means slower digestion, hormone imbalance, poor detox, and fat storage…not fat loss. This isn’t discipline.
It’s depletion. The fix? Nourishment. 🔥Action Step: Hit your daily maintenance calories, prioritize protein, fiber, and antioxidants, and have consistent daily meal times.
A simple equation you can use to calculate your daily maintenance calories is: 15 x your body weight in lbs. This sends a powerful signal to your body: “We’re safe.”
And when your body feels safe, it starts to heal. Because that’s what holistic nutrition really is: Not restriction→regulation.

7 habits i’ve let go for a more balanced, low tox life (swaps that support my hormones, skin, gut & body) ❣️❣️ 1. pain relievers → rest & natural remedies used to reach for advil for everything… headaches, menstrual cramps, u name it. now i slow down, hydrate, up my magnesium, and tune into what my body needs (dark chocolate, ginger) instead of masking symptoms 2. perfume → non-toxic fragrance was such a viva la juicy girlie 😅 but synthetic fragrance messes with hormones. now i use cleaner options like @DIME Beauty rosie by rosie jayne @Henry Rose (and slowly ditched fragrance in home + beauty too: no rush, it’s a journey) 3. blue light at night → red tint/glasses used to scroll till i passed out… now i tint my screen red after sundown & wear red-tinted glasses. helps my body wind down and actually rest 4. conventional deodorant → magnesium mist + @Primally Pure aluminum blocks sweat (aka detox).. natural deo felt scary at first, but now i use magnesium spray daily + primally pure when needed — and no, i don’t smell lol. 5. coffee/caffeine overload → matcha + protein before caffeine ran on coffee for years… on an empty stomach 🙃 used it as my “breakfast”. now i start with protein + usually matcha instead: more energy, better mood, happier gut! the mood swings were crazy from coffee as a meal 6. alcohol → magnesium drinks or ashwagandha used to be a before bed for wind down girl (it actually disrupts your sleep more)… now i reach for magnesium or adaptogens when im feeling like i want that “wind down” 7. trendy skincare → beef tallow swapped the 10-step trendy skincare routines for beef tallow @Honeybee Hippie Tallow and my skin has never been better. glowy, happy, and hormone-friendly :,) recap/final thoughts 💭 these weren’t overnight changes… just slow shifts I’ve made to lower the chemical load on my body and protect my hormones, skin, and gut.
