One day, I was snorkeling with sea turtles, the next, I was standing under a waterfall in the world’s oldest rainforest. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just stay—you sink into it, slow down, and live the tropical dream. Fun fact: The resort was originally built in the 1980s as a luxury hideaway for the rich and famous, with celebrities like Mick Jagger, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, and Bill Clinton staying here. When to Visit Peak seaon: May to October (dry season) offers clear skies and calm waters, perfect for outdoor activities. This is, however, the busiest time. Quieter season: December to March (wet season) can bring rainfall and stinger season. Our favourite time to visit is September. 😉 Trails: Trails are well-marked, and the hike is moderate (approximately 1.2 km return). The lookout offers three separate platforms, each providing a unique perspective on the inlet's beauty and views across the islands. Interesting Facts 1. Silica Sand: The sand at Whitehaven Beach is 98% pure silica, making it soft, cool underfoot, and brilliant white. 2. Protected Area: It's part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and is protected from commercial development. 3.
