CROCKPOT THANKSGIVING CIDER // spiked optional - that way everyone can get in one the fun! INGREDIENTS: 10 cups organic apple cider (just tastes better) 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 tsp whole cloves 3 star anise 5 cinnamon sticks 2-3 apples, sliced into rounds 2-3 oranges, sliced into quarter slices 1-1.5 cups fresh cranberries GARNISHES - quartered orange & apple slices, cranberries, cinnamon sticks, star anise INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Add all ingredients to a crockpot, stir and add lid. Cook on low for 2-3 hours. I like to put cloves and star anise in a metal tea ball to keep them from floating around in the cider. To set up bar - add garnishes to small bowls and lineup individual fireball shots (or your preferred mini liquor). When serving, fill glass 2/3 of the way full, add garnishes and flip opened fireball shot upside down into glass. As you drink, continue to pull up fireball bottle to add a little bit more liquor to the cocktail. This Mac N Cheese is HEAVEN Boil one box of cavatappi and chicken broth and cook for eight minutes. Grate all your cheese by hand. I used smoked Gouda, cheddar extra sharp cheddar, Colby Jack and mozzarella. In a sauté pan add 2 tablespoons of butter and all your seasoning ( garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Tony’s) after a few minutes add 2 tablespoons of flour and whisk , then slowly add one can of evaporated milk until it makes a thick paste then add 2 cups of heavy cream and turn the heat to low. After a few minutes, add the cheese and cut the heat. Add the pasta to the cheese sauce and then put in a pan. MISO SALMON HARVEST BOWLS 🍁🥙🥔🍂 All you need is - 4 salmon filet - 4 small Japanese/oriental sweet potatoes (peeled & diced) - Oil to coat potatoes - Salt and pepper - 3 tablespoons white miso paste - 2 tablespoons maple syrup - 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or coconut aminos) - 1 tablespoon salted butter For the bowls - arugala - wild rice - honey goat cheese - apples 1. Preheat the oven to 425° 2. Bake sweet potato’s on lined baking sheet tightly wrapped in foil for 15 minutes. 3. Whisk together the miso, soy, vinegar, butter and maple syrup until smooth. 4. Remove the foil, move potatoes to one side of the sheet and place salmon on the other side. 5. Coat salmon & potatoes in miso glaze 6. Bake for 15 more minutes and broil 2-3 or until salmon is carmelized and sweet potatoes are tender. 7. Assemble bowls and serve! Replying to @Cindyb1973 Recipe for pumpkin shaped sourdough bread bowls 🫶🏼 Ingredients for the dough: - 125g active starter - 365g warm filtered water - 12g salt - 500g unbleached bread flour To make them shaped like pumpkins: -Butchers Twine - Olive oil (for dipping the twine in) - Cinnamon sticks (for stems) Instructions: 1. Mix 125g active starter, 365g warm water, 12g salt, and 500g flour until combined. Use hands to make sure there are no flour pockets. Cover and let rest for 1 hour. 2. Perform 4 rounds of stretch and folds every 30 minutes, then let the dough bulk ferment for 4~6 hrs or until 50%-75% increased in size. 3. Shape into 4-5 mini loaves (mine were around 200g each) and place them into mini bannetons. 4. Cover & Refrigerate overnight. 5. Next morning, preheat oven to 500F with the Dutch oven inside. Then, dip butchers twine in olive oil (prevents sticking to the dough). Place 4-5 pieces of twine on each dough ball while it’s still in the banneton. 6. Use parchment paper to flip the dough out of the banneton. Tie the opposite ends of the twine to create pumpkin indents. Score in between the twine. 7. Bake 2-3 loaves at a time in a preheated Dutch oven at 500°F for 20 mins with the lid on (Add some ice cubes to create steam inside the Dutch oven, this makes a harder crust). Then, lower the oven temperature to 425°F, remove the Dutch oven lid, and bake for 15 more mins. 8. Cut the twine off and let the bread cool completely before cutting into them. 9. Once fully cooled (1-2hrs later), cut off the top piece of the loaf and cut a circle in the bread, pulling the pieces of bread out (save these to snack on, make croutons or bread crumbs).
