We already know my admiration for Smart Tiles BUT they are not a #budgetfriendly #homedecor product soo I went searching for a comparable style, quality, and cheaper version… I might have found it! Is the cheaper version a random brand on Amazon? Yes!! That is usually how it works but the specs (water proof, oil proof, heat resistant etc) are the same. I say that if you are on a budget for #homeimprovement these work! If you want Smart Tiles and don’t mind the price. I still love them and will always have them in my recommendation lists. If we are being honest… this #hallwaymakeover has been a disaster for me from the beginning and I am still struggling with it. It’s very cave like right now but I am going to try and pull it off! In the next part I will be adding accent lighting. I am back to the drawing board for runners. This is going to sound crazy but I need darker runners these are so light it’s actually making this space look worse. I have paintings and a thin console table coming in to break up the length a bit. Hi my name is Stefanie and you made it to #budgetfriendly #DIY #homedecor that is not complex and most of the time #renterfriendly I was a long term renter who was trying to improve my rental space (I wasn’t allowed to paint) 3 years ago and started really discovering the world of #peelandstick and how great it can be but also how awful it can be. That is where the honest reviews started! They have now expanded into all things home. I don’t know if you are aware of this… but a “life changing” area rug usually isn’t actually life changing. My goal is to cut out the BS and provide #homeideas that I have actually used. I am actually good at interior design, but my projects move slow since my family takes precedence so you have to be patient with me sometimes! It’s one project at a time here! Anyways… this community is amazing and I am so glad you are here to experience a positive and supportive home community that believes everyone deserves a home they love!

When my kitchen cabinet breaks I take this as an opportunity to play with #contactpaper to create a cute open shelving look. I actually think this idea of taking off the cabinet doors and just transforming the insides of cabinets could be a really easy #renterfriendly #DIY #kitchenmakeover that adds a little bit of character. For the homeowners like me who can’t remodel their kitchens this is very #budgetfriendly As always, both contact papers I used are added to my bio under the my finds section.

I don’t hide anything and this was a terrible #peelandstick removal day. Some will be quick to blame the product but this is a paint issue. I have certain areas of my house where the paint is “weak” not really adhered to the walls due to lack of paint prep. I was well aware of that. Before someone says use a #renterfriendly barrier (painters tape, vinyl film etc) that wouldn’t have helped much since those also can peel this paint off. I will show you how to fix this kind of mess tomorrow! #DIY #homeimprovement

One of the worst #peelandsticktiles I have bought to test are the CommomyDecor #backsplash in green. It is a flimsy/bendy plastic mold with foam adhesive on the back. I don’t understand how any #homedecor #DIY person could say these are amazing. There are so many better options out there + this foam adhesive is an absolute nightmare to remove and definitely not a good #renterfriendly #homeideas If you are ever interested in seeing what peel & stick tiles I have tested and liked. I will almost always tell you to not try and do templates when doing #peelandstick #wallpaper and that includes around a window (even with trim I would install and trim/cut around the trim) Why do I say this!? 1. Your walls and windows are probably crooked so lining up a pattern can change on each panel 2. Your template needs to be perfect and I mean perfect otherwise you run the risk of it not lining up. 3. Doing templates is time consuming & frustrating. We save time and energy on this page I wanted to make this an educational video but now we can start the fun #DIY #homedecor stuff for this #roommakeover so make sure you are following along if you want to see a really fun space! Controversial take on the “viral” cutting board… I would much rather see a well made wood cutting board. Yes the acrylic one is a #budgetfriendly #kitchen find but for a little bit more you can get something better! Also, if you are someone who cooks with meat a lot (i am not). I decided I was going to leave this room white for this #roomdesign but last year I had painted this corner so instead of repainting… I made it fun!! I went into this with absolutely no plan. I just started painting! It was fun and I had faith that it would turn out cute! That is how #DIY #homedecor should be sometimes! Not everything needs to be serious. The paint color I ended up choosing was Victoria Rouge from Dunn Edwards and it’s a pretty close match! The first time I decided to hang curtains… I cried because I messed it up and I felt really incompetent. Now I can hang curtains super quick with this template method + the right tools (stud buddies + drill/driver). I hope this video helps you feel confident if you ever have to hang curtains!
