I am really frugal and love saving money anywhere I can but I also value eating well and eating quality food. That’s why we get our meat in bulk from a local meat market. It’s definitely a big cost upfront, but it ends up saving us so much over time! This time, we spent $2,200 and purchased a whole hog and half a cow (This is double the amount we normally buy), and it should last us about 18 months. That works out to about $30 a week for high quality meat—and yes, we eat it every day, including steak at least once a week! I always get questions about what we buy and how much, so I’ve listed all the cuts and amounts below. Do you buy your meat in bulk too? I have especially been loving our new tv stand because we hide all of the toys inside of it. You can also buy more or less depending on your space or you can use it as a cabinet somewhere else in your home.

Finally wrapped up the kitchen cabinets and backsplash, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! I love the clean, fresh look—now I can layer in some decor to bring it all together. One of my favorite details is the gold hardware; I mixed three different styles of pulls and knobs to add a little character without feeling too matchy-matchy. I hate loud noises and messes so, I have to say, demo is not my calling 😂 I’ll happily paint, install, and obsess over hardware choices, but ripping things apart? No thanks. Luckily, my husband was an all star and did most of this section for me! I extra appreciated his help because I know he passionately dislikes DIY projects lol There are just a few more things to tackle on the kitchen! Taking my time with this kitchen refinishing project has been a whole new experience for me. I used to power through projects just to cross them off the list, but these days, life looks a little different. Between baby snuggles and the everyday joys of mom life, my DIYs have taken a back seat—and I’m okay with that.
