The water was so black because this client hadn’t washed his hair in a year! As a traveling carpenter, he kept his 10-year-old locs covered while working, leading to extreme matting and build-up. Referred by folks on 125th Street, he came to us for his first visit to Loc God Salon. 🦁 🔄 We started with a double detox using Apple Cider Vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice to break up the gunk. Strategic separation and a razor were key to avoiding overly skinny locs. 🎯 🌈 He wanted his natural grey, brownish gold, and dark ends to be uniformly dark, so we applied color, used steam caps, and placed him under the dryer. Loc God Oumy then retwisted his roots and shaft with comb coiling, locksmithing, and the crochet method for a uniform look. 🔥 🌟 Several hours later, he saw his transformation and couldn’t stop smiling! We finished with a simple ponytail style, and he loved how much lighter his hair felt.
